Daily Devotionals

One of the missions here at Camp Chara is to go beyond a week of two of youth camps per a year. That is why we take the time to create lessons from God's word designed for youth to read daily and grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray each one of these devo's is a source of blessings and encouragement.

Those You've Been Assigned to Reach

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. —Ephesians 2:10

Did you know that there are certain people whom the Lord has assigned to you to reach for Him? Scripture declares that we are God's creation and that He has prepared certain good works for us to do. Reaching specific people for His kingdom is one of those works.

God has strategically placed men, women, boys and girls in our lives with the intent that we will lead them to Him. These precious people are usually intended to hold a special place in our heart, but I've found that Satan does a pretty good job of bringing strife, envy and every other kind of schism into these relationships. If we fall prey to Satan's schemes, the relationship will miscarry and die, and God’s plan will not come to fruition. If, however, we walk in love and our lives express love, we'll win this battle.

Still, there are a lot of hurdles to overcome in this race. Thank God that we're not alone in this thing. There are two very powerful forces to help us in bringing these assigned people to salvation. First, there is the Holy Ghost. His job is to convict them of their sin and their lack of righteousness. That means you don't have to do it. The fastest way to get somebody to slam the door of their life in your face is to point out all of their sins. Always remember that conviction is the Holy Ghost’s job, not yours.

We also have help from the angelic realm. The book of Hebrews reveals that angels are servants sent to help those who are to inherit salvation. These powerful beings are going about God's business, putting things into the right positions and even prodding men along the path of discovering salvation. However, angels can't preach the message—that has been assigned to us—but they certainly can help someone be in the right position to listen.

Your sphere of influence is a wonderful gift of God. It speaks of His trust and faith in you. It says that He believes in you and in the message inside of you. You don't have to be convinced that you’re bold enough; He already is. You don't have to wait until you have all the right words; He believes they are already there. Even if you get nervous and tongue tied, the Bible says that He will fill your mouth.

Take a good look around you. There are people who will die and go to hell if you don't open your mouth and share your testimony. You can open the door into their lives with an apple pie or a cup of coffee. You can open the door by offering to pray for them regarding healing or another situation they are facing. You can open the door by just being a friend and listening. Consider your life more than a run toward the finish line. There are people in your life whom you have been assigned to reach!

Scriptural Context Ephesians 2:4-10

Concept Reinforcement By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. —John 13:35

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. —2 Corinthians 5:18-19

Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? —Hebrews 1:14

DO WE REALLY HAVE A BLIND FAITH?

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God and that we must believe that He (God) IS. But, is our faith...
