Daily Devotionals

One of the missions here at Camp Chara is to go beyond a week of two of youth camps per a year. That is why we take the time to create lessons from God's word designed for youth to read daily and grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray each one of these devo's is a source of blessings and encouragement.

The Spirit Led Giver

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” - 2nd Corinthians 9:6-7 (KJV)

Giving positions us for success. What you give and how you give matters. Our theme scripture reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver.

One of the greatest misconceptions with regards to this truth is that it is only directed to giving money.

Money is not the only thing we give to God.

Give God your time, your talents and the power of your mind. Be available to Him in every possible way.

In all this giving, you must be enthusiastic, zealous and fervent because that is what defines the cheerful giver.

Why serve the Lord grudgingly? Why complain and whine every time you are called upon to use your craft for kingdom purposes?

Like the Spirit should lead you in your financial giving, He also should lead you in how you give your time and the abilities that the Lord has blessed you with.

It is by yielding to the Spirit to guide our giving that we truly give to God and serve Him with our spirits (Romans 1:9).

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. In all my giving, I am led by the Spirit. I do not give out of coercion or manipulation but out of the revelation of the abundance that I have in You. I serve with great joy because I know that it is the greatest of honours and privileges. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
