The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. —Deuteronomy 28:7
Did you know that because you’re blessed, no enemy should be able to stand against you? That’s exactly right. The battle that we are in isn’t just ours, it’s the Lord’s. He won’t abandon you or allow the enemies that rise up against you to stand. The Word of God says that when they attack, they may come at you from one direction, but they will be so utterly humiliated, confused and defeated by the power that is available to you that they will run away in seven different paths.
The power that brings this defeat to the enemy is the life and nature of God that flows through you as a born again believer and follower of Jesus Christ. This incomparable power is the exact power that God released when He freed Jesus from the grip of Satan and seated Him in the highest place in heaven. Imagine this power. Jesus was suffering the agony of death in the pit of hell. He was surrounded by every demon and Satan himself was present. As they were celebrating what they thought was the overthrow of heaven and the destruction of the promised Messiah, God stretched out His hand of power and invaded the devil’s stronghold. He infused Jesus with the power that created the universe. All of the combined power of the demons, even with the assistance of Satan himself, couldn’t hold Jesus down. He arose with victory and stripped Lucifer of everything that he held dear. He did this publicly and with ease because of the great power that God exerted on His behalf.
That same power is available to you and to me through the blessing. We tap into that power by faith in Christ. If that power defeated every demon in hell and left Satan shaken, dazed and confused with his armies scattered, then what do you have to fear? Absolutely nothing! If you enter into the victory that is already yours by faith, there is nothing that can stand against you. Sickness, disease, poverty and men with evil intentions may try to take you down, but they won’t overcome you. As long as you’ve got some fight in you, they will be scattered once the power that is in you is released by faith.
In addition, God has given His Word regarding the matter of you being attacked. He said plainly, leaving no doubt about His intention, that your enemies will be defeated when they come against you. His Word won’t return to Him without accomplishing what He sent it out to do. The commander of the armies of heaven is bound by what God has said because He upholds the integrity of His Word.
When the attacks come, and they will, don’t be alarmed as if you did something wrong. Remember, that’s the nature of the devil—to kill, steal and destroy. It’s not the time to start doubting yourself; it’s time to arm yourself with God’s Word. Return God’s Word to heaven by saying, “Lord, your Word says that when my enemies come at me one way, You will fight for me and they will run away in seven directions. Lord, you command the angels of heaven to enforce your Word; send them to fight alongside of me. I thank you that what Satan meant to destroy me, you will somehow turn around for my good. I take hold of the victory by faith and I thank You that I am more than a conqueror. I am blessed!”
