Daily Devotionals

One of the missions here at Camp Chara is to go beyond a week of two of youth camps per a year. That is why we take the time to create lessons from God's word designed for youth to read daily and grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray each one of these devo's is a source of blessings and encouragement.

The Blessing Brings Peace

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

—Psalm 29:11

Now that we are beginning to understand all of the ramifications of the Lord’s blessing, we should begin to acquire some of its benefits. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to miss out on anything the Lord has prepared for me. To live our lives to the fullest extent, we should search out and grab hold of all the blessings of God. For example, Scripture reveals to us that one of the wonderful things spoken over our lives in this very personal time of celebration is peace. So peace is one of the blessings of God and it’s available to each and every one of us.

God didn’t just create peace so you and I could decide if we wanted it or not. The fact of the matter is that He has called us to peace. The Word of God makes it even clearer by commanding us to seek peace and pursue it. So whether or not we live our lives in peace is not a matter of ability or choice, it’s a matter of obedience. Someone might ask, “Well, how can I be obedient and at peace when my life is full of chaos and turmoil?” That’s a good question. We must first realize that divine peace has very little to do with our circumstances or emotions.

Divine peace is a place established and inhabited by the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a place in the Spirit so close to Him that it causes the cares of this world to become of little importance. It is a place where the reality of Christ’s lordship over all is so perceptible that everything else is diminished. As we see our circumstances and situations in the true light of His authority, power and might, things like fear, anxiety, and worry simply melt.

Your peace is already in existence. Just as God said, “Let there be light,” and there was, so it is with peace. The day you received Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Father of Lights stood up and declared your personal blessing. He spoke a blessing over you. He spoke that you were righteous and forgiven. He spoke that no weapon formed against you would prosper. He declared your life of victory, prosperity and divine health. He proclaimed your peace. Those words coming from the One who hung every star in place created and manifested your personal place of peace.

We’re not waiting for this peace to manifest, it’s already here. We simply need to believe His Word regarding this divine peace and enter into it. How can you have peace when the world is in turmoil and everything around you seems to be going crazy? First, we enter the doorway of peace by faith. We believe that peace is ours and we confess out of our mouths that Jesus is our peace. Secondly, we submit our thoughts to the Spirit of God. Then we step into the fullness of peace by entering His presence with praise, worship and thanksgiving. Peace is yours for the taking; it’s a place you can live in Him. Thank God for His blessing of peace in our lives!
