Daily Devotionals

One of the missions here at Camp Chara is to go beyond a week of two of youth camps per a year. That is why we take the time to create lessons from God's word designed for youth to read daily and grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray each one of these devo's is a source of blessings and encouragement.

In the place of preparation

Psalm 10:17 (KJV); LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

The worldly way of according merit is by looking at the experience of a person. For example, during job applications, employers seek to know how much experience one may have in a particular field.

If experience is expected by the men of this world, what makes you think that God does not require the same for those whom he calls?

In the arena of preparation, experiences make you. These experiences may be physical or spiritual. Physical experiences may be through the people you meet and the events that happen in your life. Spiritual experiences could occur through dreams, visions and the places in Him that God will take you.

Like the men of this world do not wish to place inexperienced people in places of responsibility, God does operate that way too. In 1 Timothy 3:6, the Bible says that a novice should not be appointed into the office of a bishop, lest being lifted up with pride, he falls into the condemnation of the devil.

How then does one acquire these experiences in God?

Firstly, you must understand that experiences in God are invitations. How you respond to the invitation determines how much you benefit and grow from that experience. The invitation may come through an instruction in a dream. Did you follow through? Service in ministry is an invitation. How do you respond to it?

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this knowledge. You have laid out a great and beautiful future for me. I know that with every passing day, You are preparing me for greatness and success. My heart is yielded and open to Your invitations. There is no instruction and opportunity that I take for granted because I know every step is a preparation by You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
